MUHSK - Enrichment

An all-round holistic education is one of the cornerstones around which ESK operates its pedagogic system. Extra-curricular activities are a vital part of a student’s school life at MUHSK with focus on sports and games – both indoor and outdoor, and activities that nurture physical strength and creativity amongst students.

SPORTS:
The ESK Campus of the Maharashtra Urdu High School in Kadwai boasts of being the only campus in rural Ratnagiri district and amongst the very few in the entire Kokan belt having a multi-sport turf facility.

Sports like basketball, volleyball, turf cricket and skating are regularly practiced and played on the multi-sport turf.

The Maharashtra Urdu High School Volleyball team is one of the champion volleyball teams at the district level.

Besides the outdoor sports, the campus also boasts of a full-fledged indoor games zone equipped with table tennis tables, carrom boards, chess boards and other board games.

Besides, coaching is also available for Archery and Tae-kwon-Do.

In Athletics, students can avail facilities to play Javelin Throw, Shot Put, Long Jump, etc.

EXTRACURRICULAR/ EVENTS

MUHSK:

PLANTATION DAY
MUHSK Students, on the first day of their academic year plant one sapling each. Thus, the event that has started this year has seen MUHSK Students over a 100 saplings in the soil of Kadwai and are nurturing it grow. This initiative is a part of their Nature Club – GREEN TEAM Projects and the project doesn’t end with just planting the sapling. As a part of the project, students have to nurture the sapling to growth, update their class teacher on the progress every month, and in case of the sapling not surviving, the students are given a replacement sapling to plant.
This initiative from ESK aims to be implemented every year on the first day of the academic year, when every new enrolment plants a sapling each.

Street Plays
MUHSK’s students, in their efforts to raise awareness about current topics like human and civil rights, women’s issues, patriotism and environment also stage street plays and skits at regular intervals in public spaces in Kadwai.

Library
The library is well-stocked with more than 2000 books in English, Marathi, Hindi and Urdu. Comprising classical texts, fiction and non-fiction titles, students are encouraged to inculcate the habit of reading through initiatives like ‘Page Turners’ – a reading club where students are expected to read at least one book a month and present the summary of the book in the classroom.
Besides this, there are weekly library hours, where students can browse through the entire collection of books in the library and pick a book of their interest.
